This Decision RIS provides a detailed analysis of the proposed regulatory changes to the work health and safety legislative framework in Australia as a result of the proposed introduction of Model Work Health Safety (WHS) Regulations and first stage Codes of Practice in support of the Model Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act.
It takes into account the submissions received in the public consultation undertaken and assesses the overall costs and impact on Australian governments, industry and the community in implementing harmonised Model WHS Regulations and first stage Codes of Practice in support of the model WHS Act.
This Decision RIS is intended to complement the process that was completed for the model WHS Act and is not intended to cover those matters already covered by the Decision RIS for the model WHS Act.
The Decision RIS was approved on 9 September 2011 by the Office of Best Practice Regulation.
