This model Code of Practice guides you on how to develop a safety data sheet for a hazardous chemical manufactured or imported in Australia for:

  • use
  • handling
  • storage

This Code of Practice also applies if you manufacture or import hazardous chemicals for workplaces that will use or are expected to use hazardous chemicals.

Check with your WHS regulator to find out if this Code of Practice has legal effect in your jurisdiction.

To have legal effect in a jurisdiction, the model Code of Practice must be approved as a code of practice in that jurisdiction. Check with the relevant regulator to determine if this is the case.
