Share your research

We’re keen to uncover the latest research innovations and to understand how experts are approaching research that might affect WHS and workers’ compensation systems.

We want to hear about strategic perspectives, innovative ideas, and opportunities for collaboration – and we welcome provocative or challenging thought starters and discussions.

This is an opportunity to share your work to a room of expert peers and potential partners, and:

  • pitch research ideas for discussion and potential collaborations.
  • share new methodologies or approaches to advance knowledge and practice
  • present case studies or real-world interventions that are ready to scale
  • test concepts or outputs for feedback from industry and union leaders, professionals, and peers.

Research Summit themes

Broadly, the Research Summit will be organised into 4 themes.  Potential topic examples include but are not limited to the following.

New thinking for persistent challenges

  • Managing psychosocial risks
  • Enabling safe and sustained return to work

  • Rise of AI, automation, and related technologies
  • Shifts in workforce demographics
  • Addressing the gig economy

Innovating for future scenarios

We invite you to submit an EOI using our online form below.

Expressions of Interest - Submission Form

Thank you for your interest in sharing your research at Safe Work Australia’s inaugural Research Summit on 9-10 September 2025.

A few key things to note:

  • The submission period closes Monday 5 May 2025.
  • You can submit more than one EOI if you have multiple topics or ideas you want to share.
  • We expect to have a range of formats available for sharing research during the Summit (e.g. 10-minute presentation, 90-second pre-recorded video, poster). Safe Work Australia will determine and allocate successful submissions depending on demand and Summit programming.
  • You will hear from us by the end of June 2025 about the status of your EOI(s). If selected, your final materials will be due to the Summit team in mid-August.
  • We will schedule briefings for those selected across July and August 2025 to share more details about the Summit and the speaker requirements.
  • If you have any questions, please get in touch with us directly at events@swa.gov.au
