The food delivery industry involves delivery riders picking up food and drinks from restaurants, cafes and other food outlets and delivering them to members of the public. Riders may work for the business that produces the food, or work for a delivery company, usually known as a platform.

The focus is specifically on food delivery work undertaken by delivery riders on bicycles and scooters, including electric bicycles and scooters (where permitted). It may also be of assistance to workers delivering orders by motorbike or car.
