National compliance and enforcement policy

The National Compliance and Enforcement Policy (the Policy) supports harmonised WHS laws by seeking to ensure they are complemented by a nationally consistent approach to compliance and enforcement. The Policy seeks to ensure this by setting out principles which underpin how regulators approach monitoring and enforcing compliance with the WHS Act and Regulations. 

The Policy has been agreed by the requisite majority of WHS ministers and supersedes the previous version agreed by WHS ministers on 10 August 2011. The updates to the Policy improve clarity, context, readability and ensure the Policy remains up to date.
