Safe Work Australia commissioned Deloitte Access Economics to undertake research exploring the cost of workplace injury and illness in Australia. Using innovative computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling, the study estimates how much value could be created within the Australian economy by removing work-related injury and illness.

This technical report provides extended analysis of the research findings and details about the data methodology and CGE modelling used.

For a summary version of the study which includes the key findings in infographic format, read Safer, healthier, wealthier: The economic value of reducing work-related injuries and illnesses – summary report
