Antimony (CAS 7440-36-0) is a brittle, silver white metallic element. You can find antimony (Sb) in different oxidation states, like free metal, trivalent (Sb[III]) and pentavalent (Sb[V]) oxidation. 

Antimony is in the environment mainly as antimony sulfide and stibnite. Antimony’s main use is as a fire retardant in plastics, rubber, building materials and textiles. 

Examples of work involving antimony include mining and smelting.
