Once you have identified the dusts, fumes, gases and vapours that may be present in your workplace, you must protect your workers from breathing in hazardous air and potentially developing an occupational lung disease. You can do this by using appropriate control measures to eliminate or manage these risks.

Safe Work Australia has developed guidance to help PCBUs in high-risk industries manage the risks of exposure to hazardous workplace dusts, fumes, gases and vapours including:

  • case studies
  • information sheets (including translations)
  • checklists, and
  • animations.

Make sure you implement the right control measures. More information.
