Small and medium businesses face complex challenges when their workers suffer a workplace injury or illness. Providing support and staying in touch with the injured or ill worker makes a big difference to their return to work and mental health.  

In collaboration with the Behavioural Economics Team of the Australian Government, Safe Work Australia has published a practical guide to assist supervisors support and stay in touch with injured or ill workers throughout the return to work process. 

These resources are designed for supervisors in small and medium businesses, and includes conversation starters, discussion tips and templates for supervisors to use with their workers.
